Discovering Favicons

A couple of months ago, I mentioned my collection of links and Planet Chris, both of which are now powered by Pinboard. I also hinted that I might release the latter as a DIY feed reader.

I'm still not quite ready to release my feed reader, but I now have a project on GitHub for the library I made to discover favicons. I'm not prepared to write a complete post that lists all of the alternatives and explains why mine is better, but for the blogs I follow, my library gets a favicon for every site my browser does, and that's something I can't say for any other library I've tried.

Please try it out and let me know if you find any failures.

A failure is when this library does not discover a favicon for a site that has a favicon displayed in the browser.
