Web APIs with PHP

Congrats to Paul Reinheimer whose book on Web APIs with PHP is now available. I haven't read it yet, but I know Paul has been working on it for well over a year, and it has already received a positive review from Nathan Smith:

If you are looking for a good book describing how to make use of the various web services out there, look no further. Professional Web APIs with PHP is a compliation of several helpful tutorials covering the more popular web application programming interfaces (API) available.

My copy is in the mail.

Whoa, new look and layout! I love it. Anyway, I have added this book to my wish list and will probably be purchasing it soon. It looks like a great resource.

Even though I dont use all of the different APIs, I would love to have this for reference.

That's Amazon's (or Wrox's) funny way of crediting a "technical architect," which is what I was assigned to do initially.

Although I did the technical review on a few chapters, the book's timeline and my own schedule didn't work out very well, so my involvement was minimal.

That's it, Distance yourself from the project without even reading it :p

I think our original editor's departure only confused the recognition issue.

Style Guide

Line breaks are converted to paragraphs. Also use:

  • <a href="" title="">text</a>1
  • <em>text</em>
  • <blockquote><p>text</p></blockquote>
  • <code>2  <?php  if ($foo) {      $foo = TRUE;  }  ?></code>
  1. Note: <code> can be used inline (e.g. in paragraphs) or in a block as shown. Include whitespace and newlines in blocks.
