My Google?

Google is now redirecting users to My Google (or "Personal Home" or whatever they call it) if you happen to be logged in. I'm not a big fan of this behavior, but there's a link at the top to return to Classic Home, and this preference is persistent. It's still a bold move for a site that has a solid reputation for simplicity.

If you Add Content and choose Create a Section, you can search for content to add to your personal home. I was happy to see my blog listed for php security:

I think that Google is going a bit too far. I like the idea of personalized portal but I am also afraid to open my fridge because I may see a Google Tomato Soup there. :) Google provide us with excellent search results, but I do not like to see only one company logotype while using my PC... hmmm maybe a Google PC? It is the same as Microsoft, but right now most people believes that Google are the good guys and MS are the bad guys. It is only a matter of time (read: money). Or maybe I am just overreacting.
